Situated 220km East of Colombo, Arugam Bay is currently listed as one of the top 10 surf sports in the world and played host to the prestigious pro surf contest in 2015. The waves are at their best between April and September and surf lessons and equipment are both available on the beach. Hikkaduwa, Weligma and Mirissa are popular surf destinations on the West Coast offering high quality waves all year round.
