Itinerary
We start the tour early morning and straightly head to chilaw hindu temple which is also known as Munneswaram temple. Munneswaram temple is an important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been in existence at least since 1000 CE, although myths surrounding the temple associate it with the popular Indian epic Ramayana, and its legendary hero-king Rama. After finish site seeing hindu temple we visit Anuradhapura ancient city. By the 19th century, Anuradhapura, once the greatest monastic city of the world. After site seeing at Anuradhapura for the day you will be transferred to the hotel where you stay overnight.
Next day after breakfast we drive toHabarana and next we we head to Polonnaruwa, The second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated the Cholainvaders in 1070 CE to reunite the country once more under a local leader. Sri Lanka’s medieval capital (11th – 12th Century AD) is a well-preserved city of ancient dagobas, moonstones, beautiful parks, massive buildings and stunningly beautiful statues. The majestic King’s Council Chamber, the Lotus Bath, the Lanka Thilaka Viharaya, the Gal Viharaya (rock temple) and the statue of one of Polonnaruwa’s great kings, Parakramabahu, are a few of this capital’s memorable sights. After we visit Polonnaruwa we go for a Wildlife Safari in the Minneriya National Park. Finally we will head to the hotel for the overnight stay.
On third day morning we will pick you up from the hotel and head to Sigiriya Rock which is also known as lion rock. Sigiriya or Sinhagiri is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres high. After finishing the Sigiriya tour we will transfer you to the Negombo hotel of your choosing or to the Airport.
